Last Tuesday I visited the amazing Louis Vuitton series 3 exhibition in Strand which was free entry, included a free tour, which I only found out after my visit and was on till the 18th October. Therefore this post is my walk through the exhibition for those who werent be able to see it or merely want to relive it.
This is the first image of the exhibition, I’m not entirely sure what it portrays however the change of the screen from pitch black to red is pretty fascinating.
Not the clearest image, however a very key as it introduces the Genesis collection which is series three, the Autumn- Winter 2015/ 2016 collection. Key question asked: How does the designer imagine a dream?
I loved this next room which projected models of the show talking about how they felt prior to the show, the excitement, the nerves and the rush
A key theme of this exhibition was construction, emphasising that Louis Vuitton bags are indeed hand made and the steps to create these bags are a specific Louis method of manufacture
This room had tables showing manufactures creating the bags from the very first steps, the aim of the hands are to make you feel as if you are making it yourself
Next the actual catwalk…
The next room, using real lasers, showed exactly how the pattern pieces for the bags are cut out
Up the stairs to the actual manufacturing of the bags where Louis Vuitton manufactures from Paris demonstrated how they make these bags which when finished cost from £2,000 – £3,000.
Next accessories and my absolute favourite quote of the exhibition which is illustrated perfectly in the next room
Conclusion: Beautiful insight into the Louis Vuitton factory, I do wish there was more of the garments however, regardless lets hope there’s a series 4!
