Afropunk

This month’s designer is Marianne Fassler. I discovered Marianne Fassler at the Fashion cities Africa exhibition at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery. I’m grateful that I was able  to visit this exhibition because it’s the first major UK exhibition to be dedicated to contemporary African Fashion.  Contemporary African Fashion is becoming an increasing trend in the west and in high street stores so it’s only fair to give credit to African designers who introduced a modern take on African clothing many years ago.

I love designers who reinvent a concept and adapt contemporary techniques to traditional designs or prints. Be inspired by Marianne Fassler’s 2015 Fashion Week Cape Town Collection, it literally gives me goosebumps!
