Visions of Velvet

A fabric on trend this season is velvet, because it’s autumn and because it’s leading up to Christmas, velvet isn’t just super smooth, it makes this season’s colours look fabulous too!

I’ve never actually been a fan of velvet it’s always reminded me of cheap velour tracksuits and I have a fear of stained velvet (don’t ask😬).  I bought a velvet jumpsuit from American Apparel for an event I attended: I Am Freedom Makeup Awards, the brief was party/cocktail with a touch of Halloween,  so velvet and choker would do. I’d been looking to buy a jumpsuit regardless so it should be useful in the future. I’ve fallen in love with this jumpsuit because it’s so nice to move around in and wearing black velvet is more exciting than wearing a black jersey outfit for example.

Topshop, Pleat Velvet Peg Trousers, £42.00

Velvet trousers are cool, I love all jogger style trousers so this one from Topshop is perfect as it can be styled with trainers and T-shirt.

Urban Outfitters, Velvet Mini Backpack, £36

I love mini bags and mini backpacks especially, with an all black outfit the gold one is great for a pop of colour.

hobbs-boots
Hobbs, Julietta Ankle Boot, £219.00

I literally touch these boots every time I’m at work, but probably won’t ever have them😫. Coloured velvet boots are really hot and are great to add a little edge to an outfit.
