3 Things you Should Have taken away from Fashion Week

Summer hasn’t even started and I feel to fast forward to September to embody some of the looks from the Aw17 collections displayed at Fashion Week. From New York to Paris currently, the collections displayed this season have been of exceptional quality. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so inspired by the catwalks, I wish I had thousands to spend on a whole new wardrobe.

Versace, Gareth Pugh, Topshop Unique, Moschino AW17

Fur returned this year and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere. The leopard print fur coat, ombre dyed fur coats, and printed fur coats have been a massive thing this season and it appears as though it’s only going to get bigger. The next thing for fur coats is colour, bold extravagant colours that announces your presence. I’ll defo be on the hunt for the perfect fur coat!

Versace, Maison Margiela, David Koma, Mary Katrantzou AW17

All the looks above are nothing new, an oversized masculine jacket, tailored suit and wide leg trousers. The fabrics and prints take these looks to a whole new dimension. Rich darker tones are used in unique fabrics to create a look that stands out but isn’t overpowering. The use of geometric shapes to create interesting prints adds to these poppin looks.

This is the key trend of AW17, Almost all designers who displayed their collection this season used metallic fabrics, whether this was to create an entire look or an addition. Metallics were popular last year, brands such as Reebok, Puma, d Nike used metallics in trainers and metallic biker jackets and skirts became a thing. Like fur I, assume it will be the expansion of metallics and especially silver.

  1. I love the metallic and fur trends! I am really dying for a Dennis Basso, Fendi or J Mendel fur coat. Hell, why not all 3!!! Especially in chinchilla. Great post, hun! Brilliant use of graphic design and very sleek and swish presentation! So high-end feeling.
