Spring/Summer 17 Wishlist

The time to summer shop is around the corner and as I’m buried in university work, I shall take a break to share some pieces I really want to get for summer. Looking at the high street stores, this season is loaded with bright colours and feminine cuts. The ruffles, large floral prints, puffy sleeves, and knots remind me of Spanish style and costume.  I’m hoping to avoid this trend but appreciate the more bold pieces high street stores are selling.

LondunnxMissguided
Londunn x Missguided grey fleece back wide leg logo joggers – £30.00

This first item is from Jourdan Dunn’s collaboration with Missguided, I support Jourdan Dunn because she’s a beautiful black woman killing the modeling industry. Usually, I would refrain from purchasing clothing with celebrity names that come across as merchandise because it can take away from the garment itself. However, Dunn’s collection is for the working woman who needs to be comfortable but wants to look stylish, for the woman who has several different elements to her day and is rushing around. This is definitely me and these trousers are something I’ve been looking for. I wear a pair of oversized, grey Umbro joggers from the men section of Sports Direct and I would love something similar which I would actually wear out.

Birdsongeggtee
Organic Hand – Painted Fried Egg Tee – £38.00

This Organic Hand painted t-shirt is from Birdsong, a brand which promotes sustainable fashion by providing organic fabrics and hand made garments. This t-shirt is fantastic because t-shirts are very easy to wear, I love tucking a t-shirt into jeans when it’s warm, wearing it under a dress knotting it over a skirt. This shirt is extra special because it has fried eggs on it, fried eggs are life!

DrMartens_Aunt Sally
Dr. Martens, Zuma Aunt Sally – £130

I saw beautiful singer/ songwriter Kehlani last month and she was wearing these boots on her tour. As soon as she stepped on stage I said I wanted her shoes, lucky for me Dr. Martens took ownership of the boots through a tweet. I went to the store and they didn’t have my size in the white but I tried it on in the black and they are incredibly comfy. A part of me is happy they didn’t have my size because it would have broken my bank account. I’m coming for you soon my darlings!

Asosset
ASOS white pearl Embellished Joggers – £55.00

These joggers are very cool, I’m obsessed with adding pearls on garments and shoes because I adore all the Gucci pieces that have pearls and adding it onto joggers is fun. My only worry with this is if it would suit my body shape😟, at least ASOS have a good return policy!
Urbanjeans
Urban Renewal Vintage Customised Overdyed Lilac Chino Trousers – £39.00

I’m aware this post says SS17 and I haven’t chosen one dress or skirt, I’m living a British summer, which means most days are just a arms and ankles out. This pair of trousers I absolutley love, the colour is really chilled and the loose fit of the trousers is perfect for warm weather.

&otherstories2
& Other Stories, Heeled Patent Leather Sandals – £55

Light blue shoes are stunning with almost every outfit, this is a classic sandal shape, however what makes it really special is the colour, these sandals would look amazing against an orange maxi skirt, yellow trousers, colbat blue trousers or a with a green dress.

Topshop jeans
Topshop, Boyfit jean by Boutique – £55.00

When I saw these jeans on the Topshop website, I wanted them immediately, the loose fit looks extremely comfortable and these can easily be worn with anything, from a mesh top for a casual night out to a stripped shirt and sandals during the day.
